Positano and Negatano

It's the picture-postcard town epitomizing the Amalfi Coast. An objective observer might say it was a two-hundred-story apartment building without elevators. But that would overlook the charm of the colorful cliff-dwellings perched on the mountainside, overlooking the sea. It is a genuine strain to move around, at least for someone who is not a triathlete. Fortunately, we chose a place to stay for 4 days which was pretty well located. Near good restaurants and a hair salon. And once we got the hang of the stairway system it was not too hard to get to the shopping streets and port/beach area. A good map, showing the stairways would be helpful. I don't think they have one.
There is one serpentine road which runs through the town connecting its two sections which sit on two sides of a big gorge . The road goes only one way so you sometimes have to go a long way if you are using a taxi.
Using this as our base we spent a day in the hike from nearby Nocelle to Praiano and another day by boat to Amalfi and Ravello - back by bus. That will be blogged separately. The fourth and last full day was spent entirely in Positano, shopping, napping and dining.

First lunch was eaten with precipice on the right and traffic on the left - a typical situation.

Due to the environment the residents develop strong legs and small heads
