Paestum (pronounced pestum)

Three Greek temples, quite well preserved, lacking only roofs, priests, and worshipers. Sporadic rain did not spoil our enjoyment. It was a big complex, indicated by many low walls.
By the way, the day in Paestum started with a one-hour ferry from Positano to Salerno, one hour walking around Salerno, buying picnic lunch supplies, renting a Toyota Yaris* and driving one hour to the lovely Hotel Villa Rita in Paestum.
*NOTE: In October of 2017 I received a letter from the police in Paestum demanding a 124 Euro parking fine and offering a discount to 100 Euro. I paid it on line.
"Temple, temple, temple" was my motto for the day.

Another temple in the distance - the one I wouldn't dream of going to.

A great picnic lunch on the balcony of our hotel room. cerniolla olives, proscuttio, parmesan cheese, tomatoes and fresh figs. Plus a good local white wine.

Farewell to the temples.
