Singapore - Parting Thoughts

One has to admire a small city-state which has pulled itself out of exploitation and conflict to reach the stage we see in Singapore.
This scene of living conditions in early Singapore is from an exhibit at the marvelous Museum of Asian Civilizations
The people appear relatively relaxed and friendly, with an overabundance of material possessions.
A group of workers from a large sales agency. Incidentally, stylish haircuts are seen everywhere

The Museum of Asian Civilization displays the rubber duck which won the 2002 Rubber Duck Race for Charity in which thousands of ducks are let loose on Singapore River. It's hard to dislike a place which has that kind of event.

The church of uncontrolled Capitalism can be seen to the left of the St. Andrew's Church

The buses are as delightful as the subway system.
The eternally cynical traveler wonders whether there is a dark side to this apparent modern paradise.
