A Few Animals

Wart Hog

Rhino with mud bath residue and tick-eating bird. Chinese demand for horn powder as an aphrodisiac fuels a horrendous rhino-poaching trade with horns worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Old lion resting after eating some water buffalo meat. (I will post that later.) We later saw him elsewhere recovering from his wounds after he was beaten and chased away by other lions.

Bellies full of water buffalo meat

Leopard - most powerful jaws of the cats and only one strong enough to place its kill up in a tree, out of reach of others.

Hyena - second most powerful jaws

The secretions you see come from a gland behind the eye and can indicate musth, a stage when they are extremely aggressive. This fellow was just anti-social and moved away quickly.
