Things I Forgot Or Couldn't Do Or Regret

On Feb. 20, 2018, in the nondescript town of  Scamander, Tasmania, where we stayed to reach the Bay of Fires on the following day, a big surprise awaited Emma at the check-in, a birthday card from Amir, Chandler, Zander & Alan, containing an original work by Zander.

For technical reasons I have not been able to photograph the many women who sport tattoos on neck, back, arms, thighs, calves and ankles. Nor have I dared to capture the abundance of cleavage.

The availability of toilets in public places and the cleanliness of all toilets is a credit to the country of Australia. Only once, on our trip from Warnambool to the Barossa Valley did Emma have to work hard and talk her way into the city hall of a small town to use a toilet - and that was only because the restaurant where we were eating lunch did not have a toilet.

Typical trough-style urinal
Filing cabinet with reserve toilet paper
Toilet with toothpicks available

I regret not stepping in to mediate when a crowd of angry Aborigines came to attack an advertising agency filming a commercial on sacred land.

I regret not stepping into a space/time wormhole which made an unexpected appearance as we were walking on Rundle Street in Adelaide.

I also regret lying down on the grass near the beach in the Adelaide suburb of Glenelg because I was attacked by an ant.

I regret marking up these bamboos  and poking the eyes of a Norfolk Pine in the Botanical Gardens of Adelaide.
